Advisor’s Forum
AMA Advisors,
Welcome to the American Marketing Association Advisor’s Corner for the AMASavesLives Project. The Corner is a great place to find out what other chapters are doing, share ideas, discuss challenges, and other information to help spread the message to Share Life.

AMA Advisors…have your chapter check out the AMASavesLives session at the AMA International Conference in New Orleans April 8-10th to learn more about AMASavesLives Week April 26-30th.
Here is an update on the AMASavesLives Ambassador Chapters and what is going on at some of their schools:

Florida International University – is creating a video for the AMA Saves Lives project, as well as planning a one-day event in one of their Campus Life buildings. The event will be called AMA Saves Lives - Life Saver Event, because their main theme is the life saver candy. They plan on playing educational games about the functions of the organs using twister boards, a big Operations game, and more. They are also contacting people who have been affected by organ donation to come speak at this event and will be handing out prizes: small bags with life saver candy, flyers (with the AMA Saves Lives logo, website and how to register to become an organ donor), and more…
Texas State-San Marcos – plans on doing something similar using a large Operations board game. The chapter is still in the planning process but plans to have the board game set up and for every successful piece participants remove they are entered into a drawing for some kind of prize. Attached to that ticket would be a small piece of paper containing a fact about the need for organ donors. For example, one fact could be “Over 105,000 people are on the waiting list for organ donations”, and also on that slip of paper would be the website in order to encourage people to visit the website.
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater – has a number of activities planned and has been active in filming short, personal videos (over 30 so far) to share with family/friends including one member whose video is now the most viewed on AMASavesLives’ YouTube channel with over 200 views. Recently the chapter talked with another large student organization on campus (Finance Association) about working together to increase awareness on campus. Events are also planned with some of the fraternities to help spread the message.
