Video Competitions
Prizes will be awarded for three AMASavesLives Video Competitions - - all of which should be reported in your Annual Report
1. Best Video
Your chapter can submit videos which are eligible to be nominated for the Best Video of the Year Award to be announced at the March 2012 Collegiate Conference.
A total of 10 videos will be selected as nominees including five from the Fall entry deadline (October 1 - December 16) and five from the Spring entry deadline (January 15 - March 16). All nominees and voting will be conducted by organ donation experts and marketing professionals from Donate Life America. Nominees will have their video(s) featured on AMASavesLives.com and winners will receive a grant award from the Collegiate AMA and may receive additional press coverage through Donate Life America.

Fall Deadline: October 1, 2011 to December 16, 2011 ($100 each to five nominees)
Spring Deadline: January 15, 2012 to March 16, 2012 ($100 each to five nominees)
Best Video of the Year: Top 5 videos will be selected from 10 nominees with a total of $2,750 in additional awards going to the top 5 videos; 1st Place = $1,000, 2nd = $750, 3rd = $500, 4th = $300, 5th = $200.
Total Prize Pool: Minimum of $3,750 (includes $100 to each nominee and $1,000 to Overall Best Video)
*Schools can have multiple videos nominated per competition period.
2. Total Number of Videos
AMA chapter members (and others from your school) are also invited to submit short, personalized video messages of around one minute in length to distribute to family, friends, and other contacts. These videos help virally spread the message of your organ donation support and can be used to encourage others to register as an organ donor. Monetary awards will be based in part on the total number of videos submitted as a percentage of your Chapter’s total membership. So smaller chapters can do well too!
Fall Deadline: October 1, 2011 to December 16, 2011 ($1,000 split between top 10 chapters; includes $200 to 1st place)
Spring Deadline (restarts at 0): January 15, 2012 to March 23, 2012 (noon) ($1,300 split between top 10 chapters; includes $250 to 1st place)
Total Prize Pool: Minimum of $2,300 for the year (Schools can win each semester)
3. Video Views
The third video competition focuses on the number of times your videos are watched once uploaded to AMASavesLives.com and the AMASavesLives YouTube Channel.
Want to increase the number of video views? Here are some ideas: (1) Share the link to your videos via email with family, friends, and other contacts; (2) Share the link via social media like Facebook and Twitter; and (3) Create more videos…the more videos your chapter submits the more opportunities to be viewed.
