Follow these steps to help your chapter start Saving Lives and become an organ donation advocate!

  1. Read about the changes for AMASavesLives for 2011-2012

  2. Create an AMASavesLives Committee to help organize and execute your chapter’s involvement

  3. Have everyone in your chapter who supports organ donation sign-up to be an organ donor through AMASavesLives.com so your chapter gets credit.

  4. Have everyone in your chapter follow AMASavesLives on Facebook, Twittter, and YouTube.

  5. Bring a video camera to your meetings and start filming short, personalized videos at meetings and upload them to AMASavesLives as part of the Video Competitions.

  6. Initiate an email campaign for members to send to everyone in their address book. View a sample email here.

  7. Have the committee and chapter members brainstorm ideas for the best video competition as part of the three Video Competitions.

  8. Start planning AMASavesLives events throughout the year, but especially during fall (October 1- December 16) and spring (January 15-March 23) competition periods. Read more about the Events Competitions.

  9. Have your chapter reach out to other organizations on campus and in the community to get others involved with AMASavesLives. You could also reach out to high schools, local businesses, and other community groups to do presentations or host sign-up events.
