| FIU AMA set-up an interactive booth to educate students on campus about organ donation. When students agreed to register as donors they were also given the opportunity to have their picture taken in a beach themed photo booth. Registrants also received an “I’m a Life Saver” sticker and had their name posted in the booth. Students who were on their way to class received a Lifesaver Candy package with instructions on how to register as an organ donor. FIU AMA also made some great partnerships for this event. They contacted their local OPO which was able to provide them with promotional materials including, wristbands, balloons and hand sanitizers. Additionally, they gained support from the School of Medicine at FIU. AMA Members used traditional and non-traditional tactics to promote this event. Not only did they contact friends through Facebook and Twitter, they also created and wore t-shirts which said “Got Organs?” which was a great conversation starter for students throughout the day.
